The
Centenary Stage Company will
launch its 2007-08 season with the hysterical classic comedy School for Wives by Moliere. Arnolphe, a middle aged business
man has decided the only way to avoid being a cuckold, is to marry a very stupid woman. He chooses an innocent girl and locks
her away in a convent for thirteen years, so she will be ignorant and unspoiled. Needless to say, things don't quite work out
that way. School for Wives is a perfect gem of confusion, hope, and the agonies of love.
Playwright: Molière
Director: Carl Wallnau
The production will be directed by artistic producing director Carl Wallnau. Mr. Wallnau
has directed numerous productions including the world premieres of The Poetry of Pizza, Inventing Montana,
and The Tillie Project and the New Jersey premieres of Below the Belt, Square One and Marvin's
Room. He has been cited for
outstanding direction in productions of Springtime for Henry, Engaged and Pygmalion.
Schedule
The production will open on Friday Oct. 5th and run trough Sunday Oct. 21st. The show times are Thursday 7:30pm, Fridays 8pm,
Saturdays 8pm and Sundays 2:30pm. There will also be a matinee on Wed. Oct 10th and 17th at 2:30pm. Ticket prices range from
