About the Playwright
Playwright Allison Moore, a “Displaced” Texan writer, is currently an artist in residence with the Minneapolis Playwrights Center, where, among other things, she has developed works for the Tyrone Guthrie Theatre. This past summer Allison’s work, Urgent Fury, was featured by New York’s Cherry Lane Theatre, where Moore worked under the mentorship of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Marsha Norman (‘Night Mother). Moore is a two-time recipient of the Jerome Fellowship Grant and most recently, the McKnight Continuation Grant for Playwrighting. She is a graduate of the renown Iowa Writers Workshop, where she received her MFA.

In 2001, her play Eighteen was developed at the O’Neill Playwrights Conference in Connecticut, and her short play, American Klepto was performed as part of the 2002 Humana Festival. Moore’s additional awards include the Iowa Arts Fellowship in Playwriting, the Kemp and Felton Fellowships, and the Rosenfield Playwriting Award.

Moore’s play, The Strange Misadventures of Patty, Patty’s Dad, Patty’s Friend Jen and a Bunch of Other People, a funny and poignant story of modern life and family ties, will premiere at CSC on Feb 27 and will run through Mar 13, 2004.
