The
state's premiere dance company, the New Jersey Ballet, returns
for their eagerly awaited annual performance at the Centenary
Performing Arts Guild in Hackettstown on Saturday, November
2 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, November 3 at 5 p.m.
The New Jersey Ballet's Centenary performances will include
the new Ballet, "Gospel," which recently premiered on the
Keane College stage. Performed to a collection of gospel
songs, this exhilarating new work is choreographed by Valentina
Kozlova, a former principal dancer with the Bolshoi Ballet
before her defection from Russia. Kozlova was a subsequently
principal dancer with the New York City Ballet for fifteen
years before beginning her career as a choreographer.
The evenings' performances will also include an exciting
array of selections ftom the world's most beautiful Ballets,
including the pas de deux from"Corsaire," the "Esmeralda"
pas de deux, and the very contemporary "Belong" pas de deux,
which won the International Choreographer Award in Osaka,
Japan in the 1990's.
Tickets
Tickets for the NJ Ballet are $20 general admission, $17.50
for seniors and students, and $12.50 for children/12. Tickets
