Anyone who’s ever dreamed of working in the creative and
exciting world of theatre and performing arts may have an opportunity
to explore that career this summer with The Centenary Stage Company
and Performing Arts Guild in Hackettstown. Now in its 22nd year
as the only year-round professional producing organization and presenter
in NW New Jersey, the Guild has openings on the staff this summer
for Interns in Theater Management, Arts Administration and Arts
Education.
Beginning in June, candidates will work closely with the Producing
Artistic Director in all facets of the theatre, from Marketing,
Public Relations and promotions, to casting, interfacing with guest
artists and audiences, and working with box office management. Arts
Education Interns will have the opportunity to assist with Theatre
classes in a variety of age groups.
During the 2005 summer, the Guild will once again offer the popular
“Jazz in July Series,” with three world-class jazz ensembles
performing in July and August, in addition to the state acclaimed
Summer Theatre program, The Young Performers Workshop and the Tyro
I and Tyro II camps for younger thespians. The positions will also
include assisting in the planning process for the 2005-2006 Centenary
Stage Company Equity season, which will open with Moliere’s
classic comedy, Tartuffe. Opportunities for Equity Membership
candidacy exist through the Centenary Stage Company. For persons
pursuing academic degrees, the positions include opportunities for
college credit through the Centenary College Theatre department.
Stipends for each position will be commensurate with experience.
