Audiences can't wait until next July for more Jazz!! People love the Jazz in July Concert Series at Centenary College's Little Theatre so much, that we're introducing a new jazz series to heat up those cold winter nights this January.

Smith Street Society Jazz Band The Smith Street Society Jazz Band kicks off Jazz in January, with a performance at Centenary College on Saturday, January 13th, 2007 at 8PM where audiences will have the opportunity to have a ball at this great show. Authentic New Orleans Dixieland, a variety of popular ragtime and roaring 20's music will have everyone up on their feet. What a great way to start the New Year!

                                     The Legendary Jazz & R&B Saxophonist
 
David "Fathead" NewmanAn evening of pure jazz mastery is in store on Saturday, January 20th with legendary R&B saxophonist David "Fathead" Newman and Jesse Green on piano. David has played with everyone from Ray Charles to Herbie Mann, Aretha Franklin, Hank Crawford, Stanley Turrentine, Hank Crawford and many more.

                                      One Of The Jazz World"s Best Vibraphonists
 
Warren ChiassonWarren Chiasson is a highly regarded musician in the jazz world who has been called "one of the six top vibraphonists of the last half century" by the New York Times. Originally a member of the George Shearing Quintet, he has emerged as his own man with a distinctive four-mallet technique that he weaves into a percussive, melodic style.

The Centenary Performing Arts Guild will feature, “Jazz In January 2008”, a three concert series beginning Saturday, Jan. 12th at 8pm in the Dome in the main administrative building on the campus of Centenary College - 400 Jefferson Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 (Directions).
