On Sat. July 8th JARO will have your fingers
snapping and your toes tapping as they fill the Little
Theatre with that big band sound. This great 14 piece
Big Band will perform works ranging from the Jazz Bands
in the early 1900's to today's modern Contempary Swing.

Leonhart Trio - Première bass player;
Featuring
music of the Manhattan Swing Style
The Jay Leonhart Trio will be heating up the
stage with their cool jazz style. One of the world's great
Bass player's leads this Trio featuring Bill Mays on Piano
and John Reilly on Drums. Jay Leonhart not only plays
bass but writes his own songs and sings, guaranteeing
a great evening of entertainment. |

Harry Allen on Tenor Sax, and
Joe Cohn on Guitar
The Harry Allen - Joe Cohen Quartet will be bringing
a bit of the New York Jazz style to our Hackettstown stage.
Featuring Harry on Tenor and Joe on Guitar, backed by
Joel Forbes on bass and Chuck Riggs on Drums, this quartet
is a favorite of the New York Jazz Scene. They are creative,
Inventive players that really swing. |

Jazz Soloist Stephanie Nakasian
with
Hod O'Brien and John Jensen
Saturday July 29th will feature the sultry voice
of Stephanie Nakasian. As a Jazz vocalist, Stephanie is
recognized by the Encyclopedia of Jazz as one of the leading
Jazz singers in the world today. With style compared to
Ella Fitzgerald, June Christy and Rosemary Clooney, Nakasian
first came to international attention in the mid 1980's
when she toured with Jazz master Jon Hendricks. Singing
the songs of Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Harold Arlen
and George Gershwin, will make for a great evening of
songs. |

Jazz In July 2007
The Centenary Performing Arts Guild will feature, “Jazz in July”,
a four concert series beginning Saturday, July 7th at 8pm in the air conditioned
Centenary Theatre on the campus of Centenary College
in Hackettstown NJ. See Directions. The Centenary Theatre, with limited seating, is
a perfect venue for small jazz groups, providing the audience with a close up experience
both in sound, visibility and intimacy.
Tickets
Jazz In July Tickets are $22.50 per person in advance and $27.50
at the door. The four concert series can also be purchased in advanced for $80.
