Peter and the Wolf & Other Dance Stories

YPW Performs A Chorus Line Dec. 2008
Centenary YPW Winter 2008 Production of A Chorus Line

Young Performers Spring Festival of Shows
May 20 - May 29, 2011

The King and I
Based on the novel Anna and the King of Siam by Margaret Landon, Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II's musical brings to life the story of Anna Leonowens, a British schoolteacher who became governess to the children of the King of Siam during the early 1860s. Anna and the King contrast in philosophies and are plagued with many conflicts as well as by a love they can never express.

Little Me
Written by Neil Simon, music by Cy Coleman, lyrics by Carolyn Leigh, and choreographed by Bob Fosse, Little Me is an outrageously funny musical that tells the story of the rise to fame and fortune of Belle Poitrine, a little girl from the wrong side of the tracks who finds her way to the right side with the help of several willing gentlemen.

The Clown
Mumbles, a shy clown, falls in love with the beautiful ballerina, Doria. When Dr. Tutto, the jealous circus owner discovers Mumbles secret, he frames Mumbles with the theft of the circus's money box. Written by C. Robert Jones, The Clown has a "sprightly and tuneful" score appealing to young and old alike.

Peter and the Wolf & Other Dance Stories
A delightful narrated production filled with dance and music originating back to 1936 when Sergei Prokofiev was commissioned by Natalya Sats and the Central Children's Theatre in Moscow to write a new musical symphony for children. These stories are filled with lovable characters who dance their way into everyone's heart!
