Second Comedy Workshop Offered
At Centenary Stage Company

Monday evenings from 6:30 - 9 PM
An 8-week Comedy Workshop for the public 

Back by popular demand, the Centenary Stage Company will offer it's second Comedy Workshop series this winter, beginning Monday, Feb. 19th at the theatre in Hackettstown. Teaching the secrets of "stand-up" success and improvisational comedy, the 8-week class will be open to the public, and no prior experience is required.

Kate Lyn Reiter - Instructor for our new 'Introduction to Comedy'  8-Week Comedy Workshop for the publicTaught by theatre veteran and Yale School of Drama graduate Kate Lyn Reiter, "Introduction to Comedy " will introduce the actor to the secrets of stand-up comedy and improv. Learn how to structure material, prepare delivery and other "nuts & bolts" of the world of comedy. In this workshop, actors will work on comedic style and timing. Explore your potential funnybone or just learn to lighten up.

The class will be held on Monday evenings from 6:30 - 9 PM on the campus of Centenary College. Tuition for the class will be $200, and interested participants may register by calling the Centenary Stage Company at 908-979-0900.

About The Instructor
Kate Lyn Reiter has been called "unfailingly funny" by Backstage Newspaper. She is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama and a member of Actors' Equity Association & The Dramatists Guild. Reiter teaches acting, directing, playwriting, and general theatre, with a specialty in improvisation and character comedy, having written and performed character and standup comedy in New York City.

Her performances include appearances on HBO, Fox Network and New York City clubs, where she earned a NYC Backstage Bistro Award. Reiter can also been seen with Robin Williams and John Lithgow in the film, "The World According to Garp." Locally, Kate Lyn directs frequently at the Centenary Stage Company and the Black River Playhouse in Chester.

From its acting and master's classes for adults and young adults to the Young Performer's Workshop, a performance-based, musical theatre program for children aged 8 to 18 that has been lauded by the Star-Ledger as "the most professional kids troupe around", CPAG is committed to providing quality performing arts education to the Skylands region.
