See London's renowned theater from unique perspectives - from backstage to the audience seats and the countless attractions of London. Fill your days with the great historic sites including St. Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Parliament and the excitement of Piccadilly Circus, Covent Garden. Special focus will be on theater arts with performances and insider tours of Drury Lane, National Theatre and Shakespeare's Globe. Your appreciation of the London drama scene will be enhanced by informal discussions with host Prof. Carl Wallnau, artistic director of Centenary Stage Co.

Your Faculty Escort: Prof. Carl Wallnau is an actor, playwright, director and teacher of theater arts who plays several roles at Centenary College. He is Artistic Director of Centenary Stage Company, a professional theater he has led for more than 20 years. CSC makes its home at Lackland Performing Arts Center. As a professor, he chairs the Fine Arts Department and teaches theater arts. Carl is a frequent visitor to London, researching new and innovative productions. He has acted in Shakespeare performances throughout the U.S. in venues large and small and looks forward to sharing his discoveries.

Half-day London sightseeing including St Paul's Cathedral and Westminster Abbey. After a pub lunch a short walk from museums, the rest of the day is yours to explore. (B)

Wed., Nov 7, 2012
Coach transfer without guide to Globe Theater tour, brief walk to the three stages within the National Theatre complex. Backstage tour and half-day free for the Tate Gallery or London Eye. Attend evening performance. (Shows will be selected and announced before final booking deadline). (B, L).

Thurs., Nov 8, 2012
Entire day at liberty. We day free - meet at hotel in the evening for bus transfers to Menier Chocolate Factory for evening performance. Return from theater we gather nearby to review the show. (B)

We tour the new and innovative Menier Chocolate Factory, a stage and gallery complex - site of many award-winning revivals and new plays since 2005. Other meetings or activities as arranged with Carl Wallnau (B)

Another day free for shopping at Harrods, marveling at Covent Garden or your choice of optional tour. Perhaps you fancy a day at Oxford or discount tickets at Piccadilly Circus for a show of your choosing. (B)

Enjoy a relaxing morning, then we meet in the early afternoon for backstage tour of Drury Lane Theatre. Dinner is nearby and we take in the evening's stage show. (B)

Return to the U.S. Daily schedule depends on time of flight and bus transport to Heathrow.
