Actor's Lab for Adults
Open to the public
Begins Mon. Sept. 14, 2009

Registration Deadline: Sept. 1, 2009

A new series of acting classes will begin Sept. 14 – Dec. 7, 2009, on Mondays from 6:30pm-9:00pm. The 13-week session will cost $175 and class size will be limited. The classes will focus on perfecting acting technique, concentrate on character motivation, objectives, on- and off-stage life, and text analysis to enhance performance. Elements of technique, such as voice projection, diction, body language, gesture will be addressed, as well as a study of style and period as they affect the actor. The Acting class will be taught on Monday evenings 6:30pm- 9:00pm by Lea Antolini-Lid.

Antolini received her BMA in vocal performance from the University of the Arts and her MFA in acting from Brandeis University. A veteran equity actor who performed in NYC and on the east coast, Antolini currently is an associate professor of theatre arts at Centenary College. Some of her credits include Floyd Collins and States of Independence (directed by Tina Landau), The Heart is a Lonely Hunter (Theatre for the New City), The Importance of Being Ernest (The New Repertory Theatre Company), Sunday in the Park with George (The Arden Theatre Co.) and various productions at the Growing Stage Theatre.

Acting for Young Thespians (ages 13 - 18)
Offered Fall and Spring each year

Actor's Lab for Young Thespians usually are held on Tuesday afternoons from 4:30 - 6:30 PM and introduce young actors to elements of technique such as objectives, on- and off-stage life, voice projection and body language, as well as scene work and a study of style and period as they affect the actor.

Masters Series for Actors
Periodic Offering

The Centenary Stage Company (CSC), a professional, Equity theatre in residence on the campus of Centenary College, periodically offers the Masters Series for Actors. The program is available in conjunction with the professional Centenary Stage Company (CSC) and Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ. It is taught by a guest artist from the Professional Centenary Stage Program.

Acting After School
Additional classes normally each school semester

CSC is excited to offer our Acting After School classes. It was a success in the Long Valley Middle School in Fall 2001. A collaborative project with the Musconetcong Valley Community Association (MVCA), plans to offer classes in the Hackettstown Middle School are underway, and both organizations are hoping to expand offerings to several schools in the future.

Education at Centenary Performing Arts Guild
From its acting and master's classes for adults and young adults to the Young Performer's Workshop, a performance-based, musical theatre program for children aged 8 to 18 that has been lauded by the Star-Ledger as "the most professional kids troupe around", CPAG is committed to providing quality performing arts education to the Skylands region.
