Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes when you go to a play, or to a concert? Have you ever
been interested in meeting the artists first hand? The Centenary Performing Arts Guild may have just the
answers and opportunities for you. A host of very special volunteers make it possible for this premiere
not-for-profit performing arts series to thrive here in the Skylands region, as it has for over 20 years.
"Volunteers
truly are the lifeblood
of any arts organization."
Producing Director, Carl Wallnau
This season the Performing Arts Guild has several opportunities for volunteers, including assisting
in several capacities with the exciting Jazz in January series, beginning January 12 in Hackettstown (www.centenarystageco.org).
Jazz in January kicks off with a bang, with world-class jazz legend, Bucky Pizzarelli and the "New
York Swing", followed by "The Diva Jazz Orchestra" on January 19th and the Three great tenor
Sax players on January 26th. Centenary Volunteers will assist Guild administrative staff with:
- Ushering
- Taking tickets
- Making preparations for the concert evening, as welcoming the
artists as they set up prior to performance
Side Benefits of Volunteering
See Performances For Free
Volunteering at the Performing Arts Guild is a great way to see performances
for free. All volunteers will see these exciting performances at no charge, which is an especially valuable
opportunity for regional jazz afficionados, as well as students of music in the region.
Official "Community Service" credits
Centenary
is pleased to be able to also offer official "Community Service" credits for individuals seeking
to fulfill these educational graduation requirements.
